Creating a .gif in Sketch
Creating .gif's can take a-lot of time and can be frustrating, in 5 minutes or less I'll show you how to create .gif's fast and easy in Sketch. The first thing you'll need for creating .gif's in Sketch is the 'Generate Gif' plugin, you can find the plugin on the 'Sketch Toolbox' application or on the Github repo.
Sketch Toolbox
After downloading the 'Generate Gif' plugin, check to see if it is installed in Sketch by going to 'Plugins' on the toolbar like so:
'Plugins' on the Sketch Toolbar
Next we will start working on creating a .gif. To make a gif we will need to make multiple art-boards. The art-boards will work as frames in the .gif, you can make as many art-boards you want and any size you want. But you'll have to name the art-boards a specific name for the 'Generate Gif' plugin to work. The art-boards names will work like this, for the first art-board the name will be 'Frame 01' for the next it will be 'Frame 02' and so on, you can make as many frames as you would like.
Example of art-boards
After you have all of your art boards designed and named, then you are ready to generate a .gif. Go to the 'Plugin' tab on the tool bar and select 'Generate Gif', then select the type of loop/once you want for your .gif. I'll choose 'Loop 500 ms' for this example.
After selecting your loop/once, export the .gif.
Now you have successfully created a .gif using Sketch. I hope this article was helpful and you were able to learn how to create .gif's in Sketch.
